Meal Plan – Week of 9/7

chiliHere is the meal plan that my family will start on Monday 9/7. This is based on the current Publix sale and coupon matchups. Pay close attention to the when you buy items this week because there are a bunch of them.

For example, buying the lunch meat and cheese helps increase the savings on the salad for dinner. Also, purchase the charcoal even if you don’t use it at your house (give it away). It is part of the free pork deal.

Thanks again to Michelle at I Heart Publix for several of these printable coupon links!

Easy Meal Plan – Week of 8/10

veggiesHere is the meal plan for the week based on the Publix sale ad and what I have on hand. I picked up a booklet at Publix last week called Five-Family Pleasing Five-Item Square Meals that I used as inspiration for the stir fry this week. If you’d like to look for a booklet, I found mine near the bakery section of the store.

Remember, see this meal plan and other great ideas here on Menu Plan Monday.

Easy Meal Plan – Week of 6/20

Hi, readers!  My name is Sarah and, like many of you, I’m fairly new to centsible shopping.  I’ve found that since starting to shop strategically, I’ve been able to plan more creative and varied meals for our family.  What’s even more exciting is that we’re spending less money than ever on food for our family of four.

I was most excited about all of the summer produce available this week, so you’ll find meals heavy on fresh fruits and veggies.  I also couldn’t resist including one of my favorite summer fruit desserts, since peaches and blueberries are both at good prices this week.

Remember to check out this menu and other great meal plans here on Menu Plan Monday.

Edit:  I ran into Publix to pick up a few small things on my way home from Panera.  As I walked through the meat department, I noticed that those sirloin tips were, well, bigger than my head.  I’ve deleted beef tips and rice from the menu plan (although you’re welcome to try to handle that big cut of meat if you want!) and added in an on-the-grill meal, since boneless pork chops are at a decent price this week.  Try grilling your peaches… they’re incredibly tasty that way!

Breakfast
Fruit and yogurt smoothies
Kellogg’s Mini Wheats
Toast and eggs
Cheesy hashbrowns
Veggie scramble

Lunch
Deli sandwiches and chips
Tuna salad with crackers and fruit
Hot dogs, potato salad, and fruit
Stouffers french bread pizza, crunchy veggies with hummus
Leftovers

Dinner
On the grill: porkchops, veggies, and peaches
Chicken nuggets, garlicky smashed potatoes, grapes
Broiled Greek tilapia, lemon butter pasta, broccoli
Broccoli cheddar quiche, green salad
Crockpot teriyaki chicken with stir fry veggies over rice, cantaloupe slices

Dessert
Blueberry peach galette

Easy Meal Plan – Week of 6/14

I’m really excited about this week’s spicy pork. My friend Nancy gave me a jar of her new Limin Lady Gourmet mustard to try a few weeks ago. It is a new spicy sweet mustard made locally and it is fabulous! I’ve eaten it on everything imaginable and have been waiting for just the right week to add it to the menu. I’ll be trying it on the grilled pork. Look for a mustard give away soon.

With so many garden fresh vegetables and fruits available, I will be including a veggie and fruit plate most weeks this summer. If you are not a gardener, check out the local Farmer’s Markets for some fresh picked produce.

Remember this meal plan and many other great plans and recipes are listed here on Menu Plan Monday.

Easy Meal Plan – Week of 6/7

The last few days here have been uncomfortably sticky and hot. Mornings have been fun filled with VBS and afternoons have been stifling- just no fun at all. Finally, last night rain moved through and today we all awoke to a cool morning.  I couldn’t resist shutting the computer down and spending some time outside with my children in our garden.

So here is my garden fresh, Rosemary inspired menu. A bit late, but hopefully worth the wait. You’ll notice that I’m trying different formats. Today, I’m adding the grocery items with match ups that can also be printed here. Be sure to write in your other needs. Easy Meal Plan – Week of 5/31

I’ll just go ahead and fess up that this isn’t going to be cheap week at Publix. With the warm weather settling in, I’m in the mood for sea food almost everyday. Fish and shrimp prices just can’t compete with $0.99/ lb chicken. Thankfully, we can splurge every now and then. If you’re not a seafood family, take the fish out and try Eggs Benedict. Eggs are still $0.99/doz and English muffins are BOGO.

Check out this menu and tons of other great meal plans and recipes on The Organizing Junkie’s Menu Plan Monday.

Remember to go here to print the menu lists. Create your list by clicking each item and then print.

Breakfast

We will be eating yogurt and cereal from our stockpile and adding some fresh fruit that is on sale this week at Publix.

Printable Lunch Menu

We stocked up on sliced cheese, hot dogs and buns last week. I’ll pick up some sandwich meat, eggs, fruit and chips to finish out lunches.

  • Hot dogs
  • Ham and Turkey Sandwiches (Oscar Mayer)
  • Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
  • Egg Salad Sandwiches (Eggs)

Printable Dinner Menu

I usually note the sale items, but since most all of the items are on sale this week I’ll skip that step. Roast an extra chicken without the greek herbs so that you’ll have some chicken for the tacos later in the week. Just leave a comment if you would like a recipe.

  • Lemon Herb Tilapia, White Rice Salad with Peas
  • London Broil, Roasted Red Potatoes, Steamed Broccoli
  • Greek Style Chicken, Wild Rice, Greek Salad with Feta
  • Shrimp and Grits, Fruit Salad
  • Chicken Soft Tacos

Easy Meal Plan – Week of 5/10

This is a great week at Publix as far as coupon match ups go, but for some reason this was a hard meal plan for me. I didn’t like the meat prices. Therefore, I’ve included a couple of meals that are light on meat. If you have a good stockpile going skip purchasing the meats and use what you have on hand. For coupon match ups on sale items, go here and here.

Also, I have an exciting little update. Each Monday I’ll be participating in I’m an Organizing Junkie’s Menu Plan Monday. You can view my plan as well as may other meal plans by clicking here. There are all kinds of great tips on Laura, The Organizing Junkie’s blog. Take a look, you’ll have fun.

Breakfast

Ya’ll know the drill on my breakfast menu-it rarely changes much. I’m hoping my husband will make his famous waffles and banana nut muffins over the weekend so that we can eat them all week. I’ll let you know how it works out!

  • Banana Nut Muffins
  • Blueberry Waffles (Blueberries)
  • Cereal (Post, Kellogg’s)
  • Yogurt & Fruit (Yoplait)

Lunch

  • Deli Meat Sandwiches (Oscar Meyer)
  • PBJs, Chips (Lays)
  • Personal Pizza (Thomas’ English Muffins, Oscar Meyer Ham, Publix chunk cheese)
  • Grilled cheese Sandwiches

Dinner

The sale items are noted in parentheses. With that said, I hope that you are beginning to build your stockpile and pulling more and more from the pantry and freezer. As always, let me know if you would like a recipe.

  • Veggie Night, Cornbead, Pinto Beans, Green Beans, Cucumber & Tomato Salad, Apple Crisp (Del Monte, Green Giant, Apples)
